Cynthia Dunning Thierstein attended the 40th annual colloquium of the Association Française pour l'Étude de l'Âge du Fer (AFEAF), which took place in May 2015 in Nancy. Fabienne Médard presented the results of a research project conducted by Michaël Landolt, Anne-Marie Adam, Cynthia Dunning Thierstein and herself on the typology of spindle whorls in the Metal Age. The paper was entitled "A methodological approach to Late Bronze to Iron Age spindle whorls in the Upper Rhine Valley and the Swiss Plateau". The presentation was published in the conference proceedings in 2017. Another aspect of this research had also been part of a presentation by Fabienne Médard at the study day of the Association pour la Promotion des Recherches sur l'Âge du Bronze (APRAB) at the Musée d'Archéologie nationale in Saint-Gernain-en-Laye (France) on 6 March 2015. This paper was also published in 2019.
