Bains - patrimoine touristique et potentiel historiqueOrganisation of the conference

2014

This conference was organised in collaboration with the ArchaeoTourism Association (AT) and the town of Baden in Switzerland, from 27 to 29 November 2014. The lectures brought together archaeologists, historians, built heritage specialists, investors as well as specialists in tourism, marketing, baths and seaside management. Each discussion presented a variety of views from different locations in Switzerland and abroad, including Bath (England), Baden-Baden and Aachen (Germany), Budapest (Hungary), Aix-les-Bains (France) to better understand the potential of Baden's baths. During the workshops, the participants exchanged ideas and advice on important topics such as the planning of the baths, their economic potential, labelling and the enhancement of this special heritage. 55 people participated in the conference and workshops. On the evening of the second day of the conference, a public event was organised with the screening of the documentary by the director Claudia Bachman, "47°C - Die Heissen Quellen in Baden" (The Hot Springs in Baden) and a discussion entitled "Das kulturhistorische Potential als Grundlage und Zukunft der Badener Bäder" (The cultural and historical potential as a basis and future of the Badener Bäder).
