Reactive monitoring mission for the World Heritage Centre and ICOMOS on the archaeological site of Carthage (Tunisia)

Following the receipt of information from local associations on the state of conservation of the site of Carthage, a joint consultancy mission between the World Heritage Centre and ICOMOS, including Cynthia Dunning Thierstein, visited the archaeological site of Carthage (Tunisia) for three days in April 2019. The aim of the mission was to assess the state of conservation of the site and the measures taken for its enhancement, as well as to define the impact of construction projects in the area of the property on the Outstanding Universal Value including its authenticity and integrity.
